Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Halloween is celebrated on the evening of October 31; today it is often celebrated in the morning and afternoon as well. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting haunted attractions, carving jack-o'-lantern, reading scary stories, and watching horror movies. Irish and Scottish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several countries of the Western world, most commonly in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and at times in parts of New Zealand.

Fall season

When I got home from work today, I decided to do some exercise and ended up walking like 2 miles. It was a nice weather outside and fall season is more visible. Color change of leaves occur now and some are starting to fall. It only means that the transition of seasons won't be that long enough, cold weather will start very soon but I already prepared all my winter clothes and other things. I usually do my winter shopping when winter season ends, it only means that everything will be on sale because they need to get rid all of those winter stuff and starts to prepare for spring season. It saves a lot! Oh it's already past 12, I better go to bed now. Good nigth/Good morning everyone...

Great Morning

It's a great morning! I feel much better now though I still have some colds but it's not that bad compared 2 days ago. I got it from one of those girls at work, I forget her name, she kept on coughing and sneezing, as I expected I'm one of those who unfortunately got it due to poor immune system because of stress. But anyway I'm ok now, in a while I need to prepare for work. I'll just visit some of the blogs later on. Ciao...

Clear Up Acne

Everyone hates Acne, I had the worse acne like 3 months ago and I'm so glad that it's all gone now. Anyway to those who's experiencing Acne here's some ordinary things that can help say goodbye to acne and hello to clearer and more healthy skin.

Aspirin
Even those of us who are well past adolescence can get the occasional pimple. Put the kibosh on those annoying blemishes by crushing one aspirin and moistening it with a bit of water. Apply the paste to the pimple, and let it sit for a couple of minutes before washing off with soap and water. It will reduce the redness and soothe the sting. If the pimple persists, repeat the procedure as needed until it's gone.

Olive Oil
Okay, the notion of applying oil to your face to treat acne does sound a bit wacky. Still, many folks swear this works: Make a paste by mixing 4 tablespoons salt with 3 tablespoons olive oil. Pour the mixture onto your hands and fingers and work it around your face. Leave it on for a minute or two, then rinse it off with warm, soapy water. Apply daily for one week, then cut back to two or three times weekly. You should see a noticeable improvement in your condition. (The principle is that the salt cleanses the pores by exfoliation, while the olive oil restores the skin's natural moisture.)

Toothpaste
Your teenager is bemoaning a prominent pimple, and the day before the dance too! Tonight, have her or him dab a bit of non-gel, nonwhitening toothpaste on the offending spot, and it should be dried up by morning. The toothpaste dehydrates the pimple and absorbs the oil. This remedy works best on pimples that have come to a head. Caution: This remedy may be irritating to sensitive skin.

EMAIL FROM GOD

I got this from WOF and decided to post it so others can also read this beautiful message.

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject:YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is God.Today I will be handling All of your problems for you. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day.

I love you.

P.S.

And, remember...

If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself !! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; Think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; Think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; Think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; Think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; Think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; Remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you, you may have touched their life in ways you will never know!

Now, you have a nice day,

God

Rest day

It was a very stressful and busy week for me. I'm so glad that I'm off today and tomorrow at least I can take some good rest for 2 days also I can cook some good food and watch some movies. For my new schedule I'll be working 8 days straight for 4 hours a day since they need to switch my rest day to other days. Anyway its only 4 hours a day, so its fine with me and what is good about it, I can spend more time doing my review and I don't have to rush things just to catch up my time. It will be more relaxing and stress free.

Treat Dry, Chapped Skin

Say goodbye to the uncomfortable feeling of dry, chapped skin with these softeners and exfoliants.

Lemons
It's bad enough that your elbows are dry and itchy, but they look terrible too. Your elbows will look and feel better after a few treatments with this regimen: Mix baking soda and lemon juice to make an abrasive paste. Then rub the paste into your elbows for a soothing, smoothing, and exfoliating treatment.

Milk
Treat yourself to a luxurious foamy milk bath. Toss 1/2 cup or so of powdered milk into the tub as it fills. Milk acts as a natural skin softener.

Petroleum Jelly
If you're constantly applying hand lotion to your tired, chapped hands, but then taking it off again so you can get more work done, try this tip. Apply a liberal amount of petroleum jelly to your hands just before you go to bed. By morning, they'll be soft and smooth.

Plastic Bags
If your hands are cracked and scaly, try this solution. Rub a thick layer of petroleum jelly on your hands. Place them in a plastic bag. The jelly and your body's warmth will help make your hands supple in about 15 minutes.

Shortening
Why pay for fancy creams and lotions to moisturize your skin when ordinary shortening can do the trick at a fraction of the cost? Some hospitals even use shortening to keep skin soft and moist, and you can too. Next time your hands are feeling dry and scaly, just rub in a little shortening. It's natural and fragrance-free.

My morning looks

When I woke up this morning I decided to grab the camera and took picture of my look without first washing my face, brushing my teeth and also brushing my hair. Just wanted to see if how I look in the picture without doing all those morning rituals yet.

YES! I received my eligibility

I wasn't expecting that I'll received my eligibility notice for NCLEX-RN examination that fast since I'm a foreign graduate and also from what I read and People I know are telling me that the processing at California Board of Registered Nursing could take 4-6 months. Luckily in my case it only took a month. I am so happy right now, Thank you Lord for answering my prayers. I'm planning to take my examination on January, I just need to make myself a 100% sure. This is one of my dreams and Im almost there. I pray with all my heart that I'll pass the exam and be able to start a new career. Lord please do guide me always.

Upside down house

An upside down house was built in Germany to enable an alternative view on everyday life for visitors. This looks cool, I just hope no one would dare to use the bathroom. Hehehe!

Update

Here's an update about my job interview yesterday, I got it! I'm so happy and so thankful that everything went well. Now I'll just have to wait for them to call me for orientation. It's not really a high pay job but it will be a big help while I'm still reviewing and waiting for my eligibility for the licensure exam. Solid gold sculpture of British model Kate Moss

All I can say is WOW to this 50 kilogram (110 pound) solid gold sculpture of British model Kate Moss made by artist Marc Quinn is unveiled at the British Museum, in central London, Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. The statue named 'Siren', the largest gold statue produced since Ancient Egyptian times according to the museum, was unveiled for the first time in the Nereid Gallery, against the backdrop of classical sculpture from the Museum's collection. Siren is one of five contemporary sculptures by leading contemporary British artists going on display as part of the exhibition 'Statuephilia', paying tribute to the cultural significance of sculpture across the ages. World Teacher's Day

World Teachers' Day, is held annually on the 5th of October since 1994, it commemorates teachers organizations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilize support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers. According to UNESCO World Teachers' Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.

My mother is a public school Teacher in the Philippines. She's been teaching for over 20 years. She's very committed to promote quality education in order for this children to have a descent life in the future. I am so proud of her and grateful, it won't be possible for me to have a good education and be the person I am today without her love, care, support and of course hard work. Also I won't ever forget and will always be proud of my Teachers from Grade school to High school and Professors back in the college days, they too played a very important role in all my achievements in life. Happy Teacher's Day to all the Teachers out there who are the heart of education system.

House sells for $1.75

I was just browsing the net for news and some interesting stories and this one really catches my attention. A home is seen Sept. 17, 2008, in Saginaw, Mich. With a winning bid of just $1.75, a Chicago woman has won an auction for the abandoned home in Saginaw. Joanne Smith, 30, recently was the top bidder for the home during an auction on eBay, The Saginaw News reported, in September 2008. Her bid was one of eight for the home. She must pay about $850 in back taxes and yard cleanup costs. (AP Photo/The Saginaw News, Melanie Sochan)

Manicure and Pedicure Tips

Like every other girls out there, I do love manicure and pedicure. It's not only making the nails looks cute and cool but most importantly it helps to keep the nails clean. Here's some fresh ideas I've read and wanted to share for beautiful fingers and toes.

Bath Oil
Heat 1/2 cup bath oil mixed with 1/2 cup water on High in your microwave for 30 seconds. Place the solution in a deep bowl and soak your fingers or toes in it for 10-15 minutes to soften cuticles or calluses. After drying, use a pumice stone to smooth over calluses or a file to push down cuticles. Follow up by rubbing in hand cream until fully absorbed.

Castor Oil
If you were ever forced to swallow castor oil as a child, this may be a pleasant surprise: The high vitamin-E content of that awful-tasting thick oil can work wonders on brittle nails and ragged cuticles. And you don't have to swallow the stuff. Just massage a small amount on your cuticles and nails each day and within three months you will have supple cuticles and healthy nails.

Cooking Spray
Need your nail polish to dry in a hurry? Spray it with a coat of cooking spray and let dry. The spray is also a great moisturizer for your hands.

Film Canisters
Create a small, spill proof carry case for nail polish remover by tucking a small piece of sponge into a plastic film canister. Saturate the sponge with polish remover and snap on the lid. For an emergency repair, simply insert a finger and rub the nail against the fluid-soaked sponge to remove the polish.

Lemons
Pamper your fingernails without the help of a manicurist. Add the juice of 1/2 lemon to 1 cup warm water and soak your fingertips in the mixture for 5 minutes. After pushing back the cuticles, rub some lemon peel back and forth against the nail.

Marshmallows
Get the comfort of a salon treatment when giving yourself a home pedicure. Just place marshmallows between your toes to separate them before you apply the nail polish.

Mayonnaise
To add some oomph to your fingernails, just plunge them into a bowl of mayonnaise every so often. Keep them bathed in the mayo for about 5 minutes and then wash with warm water.

Petroleum Jelly
During home manicures, it's hard to keep the nail polish from running over on your cuticles. Petroleum jelly can help your manicures look more professional. Dab some along the base of your nails and the sides. If polish seeps off the nail during the manicure, all you do is wipe off the petroleum jelly and the sloppy nail polish is gone.

Styrofoam
When applying nail polish, a foam pellet or a small chunk cut from a block of foam packaging placed between each finger or toe will help spread them apart and keep the polish unblemished until it can dry.

Vinegar
  • You can soften the cuticles on your fingers and toes before manicuring them by soaking your digits in a bowl of undiluted white vinegar for five minutes.

  • Your nail polish will have a longer life expectancy if you first dampen your nails with some vinegar on a cotton ball and let it dry before applying your favorite polish.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) (also referred to locally as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM)) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer, as well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.
